MEET ELIZABETH

Proven leadership to keep moving Derby forward.

Elizabeth is Derby's current Ward 2 City Council Member. Her time on the city council has given me insight on how all of the different components in the city operate. She understands the importance of everyone working together for the benefit of Derby's residents.

She currently serves as the Board Chair and a member of the Executive Committee for the Derby Community Foundation, and serves on the Rock Regional Hospital Advisory Council. She is an active member of the Derby Rotary Club, Derby Chamber of Commerce, and Wichita Independent Business Association. In the past she has served  on the Sedgwick County  Commissioner Redistricting Zoning Committee.  She is proud to be an Honorary Commander of the 22nd Contracting Squadron at McConnell Air Force Base.

I was born and raised here in Derby. When it came time for my husband and I to decide where we wanted to put down roots and raise our family, we couldn't think of a better place to call home than Derby, KS! We live, learn, earn, play and pray here!

While campaigning in the past, I truly loved listening to the thoughts, ideas, and opinions of the community members. I pride myself on not only being a good listener, but actually hearing what people have to say. I’m excited and energized to hear what the community has to say about the current direction Derby is headed, what can be done to make this city feel like home to everyone, while still staying inviting to those who are thinking of making Derby their home.

I plan to best serve Derby by utilizing my business experience to benefit our community. I have been successfully self-employed for over 20 years. I will use all of my years of experience and business acumen as your Mayor to make Derby the best place it can possibly be! It is important to not only have the right people on the bus but to have them in the right seat on the bus to fully maximize everyone's strengths and attributes. I have found successful businesses are the ones that serve more people. Businesses that focus on the needs of others rather than their own are the ones that truly “get it!” We are meant to serve others and not ourselves. As Mayor, I will focus on serving the needs of the Derby residents & economic development for Derby businesses. I want Derby to continue to be THE place to live, learn, earn, play and pray.
